A little info about Lefty Quilter: My name is Tammy Milburn and as you've probably guessed...I'm a Lefty! My studio is located in the northeast corner of Maryland with Delaware and Pennsylvania practically in our backyard. I knew nothing about quilting until one day my wonderful mother-in-law gave me my first quilting lesson. This was 30 years ago and that's all it took to get me hooked!
Having a passion for antiques or "old things", photography and memorabilia, I realized I could combine these with my love for quilting! So I started mixing those loves together to create unique quilted objects. Needless to say, I became addicted and have accumulated a huge collection of vintage buttons, jewelry, beads, trims, ties & hankies that I love to use to embellish my personal quilted creations!
One day I realized that my passion to preserve memories could be used to help others, so I made my first t-shirt quilt which consisted of travel t-shirts collected over 10 years. After that, using a loved one's clothing to create a memory quilt was the logical next step. I love helping people preserve memories thru quilting. Whether a collection of their favorite shirts, a lost loved one's clothing, or a child's baby clothes, these unique quilts are created to preserve special memories and become cherished heirlooms.
I also offer Longarm Quilting Services! I have an Innova 26", which is built right here in the USA and is used by many professional, award winning quilters, such as Jamie Walen. My machine also has Lightening Stitch, which ensures every stitch is equal in size and distance for consistent quilting. With its computerized digital pattern capability, I can add almost any type of design you'd like to your quilt. You can find the digital designs available under the Longarm Quilting tab at the top. If you would like to have your tops quilted by a longarmer, please contact me using the link below. If you're local, quilt tops can be dropped off or we can arrange a pickup.
Are you on Facebook? If so, please go to the home page click on the "Visit my facebook page" button and "like" me! You can find examples of my work throughout this website as well as my facebook page.
Thank you so much for visiting my site. I'm looking forward to helping you preserve "sew" many memories!! Tammy
