To my family, friends, and customers....thank you so much for your constant support!! I could not have made it this far without you. Here's to another super creative year!
It's a little mind blowing to come onto my blog to post about hitting my 2nd anniversary of Lefty Quilter Creations and realize that I haven't updated the blog in over a year. How is that possible? How in the world has time passed so quickly? This 2nd year of business has just flown by! As I sit here and think about all the beautiful quilts that I've been able to make for my customers and know that they are enjoying something created by me is overwhelming. It has been an incredible year and I'm looking forward to designing and creating many, many more.

It's hard to believe that just one year ago I started Lefty Quilter Creations. What a year it's been! New designs, new customers, and so many new ideas that I've written down but just haven't had the chance to develop the patterns, let alone create with fabric! To celebrate LQC's anniversary, I purchased a new computer design software program that will allow me to take those ideas and create patterns much faster than graph paper & Excel. What started out as a wish for a new beginning is finally becoming a reality! I am so thankful for everyone who has helped me reach this point, especially my partner/hubby, my mom, my sister Anmarie & drill sergeant Heather who keeps me working even when I don't want to. Looking forward to what the next year will bring!
This quilt was created for the senior class of Tri-State Christian Academy located in Elkton, MD. The center contains a fabric print of the school's crest with 2014 written above in gold. I love to call these "message" quilts because it's made to allow for your graduate's friends and family to autograph, leave messages, record special memories, etc. and will bring personal enjoyment to the recipient for many years to come. If you'd like to have one made for your graduate just let me know! I hate sitting around being idle...or in today's case of laying around since I'm feeling terrible again. So I took the sketch pad back to bed with me and came up with a couple more Tardis pillow & wall hanging designs! One in celebration of the 50th anniversary. Cannot wait to get back to the cutting table. I would love to get my hands on some "official" Doctor Who fabric for the back of each pillow...wouldn't that look awesome?!
Since it's been so cold for the last couple of days and I wasn't feeling well, I decided to stay warm in bed and try to come up with some new design ideas. I thought this would be a cute way to announce I designed a Tardis pillow and a very unique t-shirt pillow! Cannot wait to get the samples finished so I can post! Announcing the launch of Lefty Quilter's "X" Marks The Spot Novelty Quilt!! Love halloween or Christmas? Have a favorite sport, hobby? Love flowers, cats, dogs, insects, the beach? Lefty Quilter has designed an "X"tra special quilt that contains dozens of different fabrics in a related theme! The theme for this sample is Halloween and contains 26 different halloween fabric! Hoping to make another halloween, a chicken theme, and a tractor theme this year!! Wow...did December fly by for all of you too? It was filled with finishing quilted projects, online shopping, and not stressing over the holiday but enjoying it. I am very happy to say this is the first Christmas that was stress free!!! YAY!! LOL...my hubby and son were very happy too!
Since today was such a rainy day, hubby decided it was time to clean out his t-shirt drawers (yes plural) and start his own pile of "can't bear to throw out" t-shirts for me to make him another lap quilt (he already has the Pink Floyd one!). What I'm really waiting on is the day he lets me have all his Farmall tractor shirts!!! Already have the fabric for that one LOL! Delivered my very first Tardis quilt to my client today and she loved it! Feeling so thankful. I've posted a picture under the Custom Quilts tab if you'd like to take a peek...Please let me know what you think!
